Gothic Earth is a role-playing game run by Scott Hardie for friends in Bradenton, Florida. The game combines two other RPGs, the setting of Masque of the Red Death and the rules of Tri-Stat dX.

The game is named for its setting, an alternate Earth in 1899 where horrific creatures lurk in the shadows, preying on the "enlightened" men and women whose trust in modern science is misplaced. In this world, literary characters like Sherlock Holmes and Dracula are as real as the player characters. Although very different in mood, historical facts about this Earth such as national borders and world leaders are the same as in real history unless noted.
