Jacques LeBeau was a primary player character, played by Stephen Gambill.
Native to New Orleans and orphaned at birth, he learned to fend for himself after his caretaker died. He was adopted and raised by gypsies after surviving a dog attack in the swamps of his hometown. His left leg is paralyzed, so he relies on a cane to help get around. He learned sleight of hand and knife-throwing tricks while helping his adoptive family in their traveling circus. He eventually learned magic and became an accomplished magician and illusionist. He left the gypsies to pursue his own ambitions after saving a young girl in a small town in Nevada. He named her Vivienne LeRouge and took her in as a little sister, raising her and teaching her everything he could about magic, stage performance, and the gypsy lifestyle. She eventually became a beautiful woman and works as his stage assistant, manager, accountant, and grifter. He wants to be the world's greatest magician and aspires to learn true magic.
Notes
Jacques was largely insired by Stephen's childhood hero Gambit of the X-Men. Jacques was created by Stephen after he realized that his original character Aiden Kane was far too aggressive and narrow-minded to fit into the group's knowledge-seeking and conservative character designs.
